Finnies is a long time supporter of local charities where the funds raised help people in the local areas. The charities are wide ranging and cover areas such as cancer care, drug rehabilitation, children, homelessness and many others.
Awarded in person by Prince Charles in a ceremony at Buckingham Palace in January 2011, and announced in December 2009's Christmas List, Peggy Finnie received an MBE for decades of supporting the community and various charities in Aberdeen. Peggy has spent eight years as a committee member of the Friends of Aberdeen and North Centre for Haematology, Oncology and Radiotherapy (ANCHOR), she has been a trustee of the police charity The Diced Cap Charitable Trust and has fundraised for Inchgarth Community Centre for many years. The Press and Journal reported in 2009 that Peggy was 'humbled' by the award and we at Finnies remain immensely proud.
